A Gang of Four member invited me over for dinner and I threw up.

During a recent chat with my dad, I realized back in junior high our family had gone to the same church as Ralph Johnson. Yes that Ralph Johnson.

Me: that’s the guy we knew?
Dad: yep
Me: I knew he was important
Me: somehow
Dad: The guy you thought was annoying
Me: ha - that’s funny
Dad: heh
Me: drat
Me: I meet someone when it doesn’t matter
Dad: yeah, who knew. ;)

Dad: Now you too can be a name dropper.
Me: hahaha
Dad: Of course if you are honest, you will have to say that you thought he was annoying.
Me: no problem :)
Dad: ha ha

It’s really funny to now be where I’m at professionally, to look back and think wow - all I took away from knowing Ralph Johnson was that he annoyed me. (Ralph, if you read this, keep in mind I was a punk 12-year old kid, and I know I probably rated higher on the annoyment scale.)

However, I do have one claim to fame due to an incident when they invited my family, and I believe some others from our church, over for dinner. How many people, besides his own family, can say they have thrown up at his house? Hmmm? Can you?

Me: Did we eat dinner at his house one time?
Dad: yep
Me: Did I throw up?
Me: Or did someone else/
Dad: oh, I think you might have
Me: hahaha
Dad: I forgot about that

My geek status has just risen +5.
