Windows 7 – Homegroups

Finally! Easy home networking. I bought a Windows 7 Home Premium Family Pack (3 licenses), set up a Homegroup to share files and a printer, and I’m loving it. Super easy.

I was on the phone with Microsoft tech support for two hours today trying to get Homegroup working. Turns out AVG Free anti-virus software had written something to the registry that was blocking the network. Uninstalling AVG on both PCs, creating/joining the homegroup, then reinstalling AVG did the trick.
