Some pictures from the last few days

Rovia

The Goerings’ dog, Rovia, who brought fleas into my room while we took care of her for a few days. Thanks, Rovia.

Timothy being studious

Timothy, really really focusing on the prof’s lecture. This was a class on American Literature.

S-bahn

Jana & I took a walk last night, and risked our lives sneaking over the tracks, and I got this picture right before we crossed…

walking..

We also snuck through a cornfield and somebody’s garden…but Jana only fell and bit it once, and so we were pretty proud of ourselves.

Train tracks

Okay, I’m just a bad influence on Jana.

Big News.

April26

All right people, it`s been decided.

I am officially leaving to come back to the “oooo ss ahh” next Wednesday the 3 of May. I don`t really know how to feel about it, but those are the facts.

And I am going to Paris on Friday and will be back Monday.

I will be coming back broke.

Big Update

April25

The last few days have kind of been a whirlwind of nothing and something at the same time. Just having to make big decisions.

In case you haven’t heard, I am going to be coming back to the USA soon, I just have to make a decision on the day, but it might even be as soon as this coming week or the next. It’s such a difficult decision, but it seems to be the right one for now. It’s such a difficult decision, but I know that it’s the right one for now. There are some things I need to be back home for right now.

I feel so tired the last few days and really strange, I guess trying to process everything. It’s almost like a twilight zone, because I’ve only been gone almost 2 months, which doesn’t seem that long, probably especially to everyone else, but to me it’s been a lifetime, it’s hard to explain. It’ll be difficult to return to where I was 2 months ago when I feel like a lot has changed, at least internally. I’ve never been so challeneged in my entire life in almost every way possible….it’s been great.

A walk at dusk

April22

Next time you have a chance to take a walk at sunset in Europe, do it. It’s pretty fantastic, I must say. Especially when you have Dave Matthew’s “Stay or Leave”, Jack Johnson’s “Cocoon,” and some Madonna techno music (i’m sorry, it’s good).

Bench

I just really like the image of this bench, in the middle of a small German cemetary. This cemetary is about 5 minutes from where I’m living.

Cemetary

This is a view of the chapel in that cemetary.

Castle 2  Castle 1    Castle 3

And then we have the FABULOUS moated castle that I probably was not allowed to go near, but did anyway.

Westfalen Park

April20

Yesterday I went to Westfalen Park with Tabea, downtown Dortmund. It was a beautiful day, and here are some quite lovely pictures for you lovely people.

Boutique

In the new Boutique, “Feminine Mode,” owned by a lovely lady from their church. She gave me a free ring! And I bought some earrings.

Shoes

Some of the coolest shoes I’ve ever seen. I might have to purchase these.

Me & Tabea

Me & Tabea, at Westfalen Park, enjoying the beautiful Spring weather!

How nice

A nice older German couple, conversing on a bench, watching the birds fly slowly over the blooming tulips…it’s a nice image, isn’t it? Yes…until Tabea suggested that perhaps they were father/daughter, and that just ruined the whole thing.

Tabea in the hammock

We took turns chilling in the hammocks.

Strolling…

Dortmund

A view of Dortmund. Where I live is out toward the upper left hand corner of the screen (not in the sky, people).

Dortmund again

Another view of Dortmund. Here you can see the Stadium, where I got to see the USA vs. Deutschland game last month, and where World Cup Games will be held. The Uni of Dortmund is to the right (notice there is no American University-ish architecture in German U’s).

Okay! That’s all for now…
